Frequently asked questions
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your account email. You'll receive a reset link by email. If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder or contact us.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. Your personal data and content are removed from our active systems within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing hello@hauptgang.app from your account address.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple. To manage or cancel, open the iOS Settings app → [your name] → Subscriptions → Hauptgang. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. For refund requests, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
Recipe import isn't working for a link or photo
Some sites block automated access, and very stylised handwritten notes can be hard to read. Send us the link or photo and we'll take a look — your reports help us improve the importer.
Can I use Hauptgang on iPad or Mac?
Hauptgang is built for iPhone. It runs on iPad and Apple Silicon Macs in compatibility mode, but the layout is optimised for iPhone for now.
Sharing a cookbook with someone else
Open a cookbook, tap the share icon, and send the invitation link. Members you invite can view and edit the recipes, meal plan entries, and shopping list items in that cookbook. The owner can revoke access at any time.
Report a security issue
If you believe you've found a security vulnerability, please email hello@hauptgang.app with the subject line "Security" and a description of the issue. Please don't disclose it publicly until we've had a chance to investigate.
